Zapier Dictionary

Zapier Dashboard: It is the home where you can configure different zaps. On dashboard you can have your account details and you can make zaps over there.

Zap: Zap is automatic workflow in other words I can say that it is the blue print of the tasks you want to do with Zapier. You may have a zap to send data from landing page to Google sheet and another Zap to send data from exit Popup to Goggle sheet. Zap consists of two parts. One is the trigger and second is one or more actions.

We will take example of send Gmail attachment to Dropbox account to understand trigger and actions properly.

Our aim is to “Save Gmail attachments to Dropbox”

Trigger: Trigger is the event of the app when you want to fetch data from any application. You receive a lot of emails every day. When you set trigger to fetch email attachment than Zapier monitor your Gmail account and trigger will not run until you receive Gmail with attachment. Zap run only when the trigger requirement is fulfilled.

Action: Action is the task to be performed with zap. In our example saving attachment to Dropbox is the action. Trigger run when there is attachment in your Gmail and action will be done to save it in Dropbox. Each trigger can have more that one action.

Task: Task is a piece of value that you run through the zap is know as task. When your zap saves 200 attachments from Gmail to Dropbox task will counted as 200.

Path: Path provides different ways to perform action according the value fetched by trigger.

Zapier is automated workflow of repeated tasks of exchanging data within different applications. If you have question regarding Zapier terms you can drop your questions in comment box.
